Megahurtz & Ethnic Education
Thursday. 12 AM. I check Posten.se’s website if my computerparts have arrived yet. Fuck yeah, they have! Quickly, I get dressed, grab the carkeys and drive to the postoffice, like straight out of the movie Death Race 2000. All jumpy I hand over my details and they fetch me my stuff, and I dash to the car once I have my package (not my crotch mind you) in a tight grip. Safe and sound back home, with almost a tire blown, I unpack the box containing my parts. Was just missing the sound of an angel choir chanting as I opened it up … BEHOLD!
After many attempts of trying to reinstall Windows, I ended up formatting and partitioning a SATA-drive, cause every time I tried to install to my ol’ faithful IDE-drive I got a bluescreen during setup. Oh and I also managed to break the molex-connector on the second IDE-drive, but that can be fixed with some quick resoldering. So like 4 hours later, I was fully updated, all drivers and all set. It’s gametime…
During the weekend, I’ve completed Bioshock & Medal of Honor Airborne, and also tried some Colin McRae DiRT (may he rest in peace). Holy hell, even with everything maxed out, the games run smooth! Except DiRT which is quite demanding at highest settings but still playable framerates.
Bioshock was quite enjoyable, but MoH:Airborne wasn’t due to it being extremely short (6 levels). Sure, the game Bioshock have about the same amount of levels but they are fucking massive and takes a long time to go through. Since the game has been out for some time, I couldn’t help to read spoilers before hand but they didn’t have much impact on the experience. Even though that I knew Atlas was *cough* MOVING ON… last bossfight was a disappointment.
I also snatched a betakey for the Crysis multiplayer beta when Fileplanet handed out keys last week, and boy was I lucky, since they were all out of keys in matter of minutes. I hope Crytek enables DirectX 10 in the beta soon, so we can play it in its full glory (for those who are on Vista).
Ethnic Education
Moving away from the new computer and into the real world, something in the local newspaper this morning pissed me off. Not that it affects me but could have an effect on my brother.
Ok, the school hired a photographer to take photos of classes for the school photo catalogue, like always every year. But the photographer was black. And this seemed to have an odd effect on many of the kids. They outright verbally abused him, taunted and what not, just cause he is black. Jesus fucking christ, it even says like 15-20 kids jump at him at once and called him the n-word and such. As a result he quickly packed his things and drove away, never to come back again. I know what he should’ve done: Kicked their fucking asses! If he could that is. Stupid laws.
I really hope the kids feel proud of themself, cause then it gives me and others another reason to knock their teeth out. Hope it wasn’t done by the class my brother’s in, cause then I’d take a serious talk with him. But they are going to send papers to the parents for the kids involved, and we can only hope the parents strap their kids to a pole and whip their backs for hours with leatherbelts. Let just hope one of them doesn’t land in our mailbox.
